What is discoloration or dark spots?
Skin discoloration, dark spots or hyperpigmentation occurs when the skin produces too much melanin in a concentrated area. It can appear as brown patches, dark spots, post-acne marks, sun or age spots.
What causes dark spots and uneven skin tone?
There are many factors that can contribute to the formation of discoloration. Some of these causes include sun exposure, aging, pregnancy, hormone fluctuation, acne or skin injury. The most common causes are due to sun damage from UV exposure or general aging which can result in the formation of dark spots, age spots, or uneven skin tone that most often appear on the face and hands. Another factor is scarring that can be left behind from acne breakouts or blemishes. Some skin tones or skin types are more susceptible to post acne marks and scars. As a result, skin reacts to the irritation by overproducing pigment. Melasma is another condition often created by pregnancy and hormone imbalance that can result in tan to brown patches around the mouth and eyes.
How do Palmer’s Skin Success Fade products work?
Palmer’s Skin Success products combine a highly effective combination of ingredients such as Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Retinol, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Songyi Mushroom Extract that attack discoloration in 3 phrases for comprehensive and lasting results. Niacinamide and Songyi Mushroom disrupt the overproduction of excess melanin and its path to skin’s surface while Retinol and Vitamin C exfoliate the discolored top layer of skin, breaking apart existing dark spots and marks to reveal brighter, more younger-looking skin underneath. Our new Extra Strength Tone Correcting Formulas contain added youth-enhancing Amino Acid and Hyaluronic Acid to additionally boost hydration, plumpness, reduce pore size and fine lines.
How long will it take to see results?
With consistent use twice daily as directed, most individuals will see visible results in as little as 1-2 weeks, however more dramatic results may take longer and be more visible around the 8 week mark. It is important while using these products you limit sun exposure and use a daily sunscreen. As Palmer’s Skin Success Fade treatments contain Retinol, your skin may be more photosensitive and use of a daily sunscreen is recommended. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid using any products with Retinol. Before starting any new skin care regimen it is always recommended to consult with you dermatologist or doctor, especially if you are particularly sensitive to ingredients or have extreme skin conditions.
Do these formulas contain Hydroquinone?
Palmer’s Skin Success Fade products are free of Hydroquinone. Hydroquinone is no longer available as OTC (over the counter) and can only be prescribed by a doctor and provided with a prescription.
Do these products contain sunscreen?
No. We strongly recommend using a daily sunscreen with these products.
Can I wear makeup/foundation with these products?
Yes! These formulations are lightweight enough to wear under makeup.
What is the difference between the Palmer’s Fade Cream and the Extra Strength Tone Correcting Cream?
Palmer’s Fade Cream has a 5% concentration of the key active, Niacinamide, and is clinically shown to start producing initial visible results in two weeks of consistent usage. The new Extra Strength Formulation contains double the amount of active ingredient, 10% Niacinamide in clinical trials was 2xs faster acting, providing initial visible results in 1 week. The Extra Strength Treatment also has the added boost of Amino Acid to help combat the visible signs of aging in addition to discoloration care.
